Empowering and Encouraging the Healthy Mind, Body, and Spirit

About the Owner

Dr. Amelia Franklin, PT, OCS

Dr. Franklin received her doctorate in physical therapy from Temple University. Her passions include working with "motivated movers." She has in depth experience in treating knee pain, hip dysfunction, pelvic dysfunction, shoulder pain, and ankle instability. She is also proficiently trained in rehabilitating techniques for orthopedic and sport diagnoses. Dr. Franklin incorporates a holistic approach to restoring function using both Muscle Energy and Postural Restoration (a whole body approach to treatment). Her passion for orthopedics has lead her to become a Board Certified Specialist in orthopedics. She is currently pursuing accreditation in Postural Restoration, placing her in the elite class of therapists in Virginia. With a passion for education, Dr. Franklin enjoys mentoring physical therapist students and has been a clinical instructor for many students in the past 7 years.

Dr. Franklin believes that providing one on one personalized treatment is among the most important factors in rehabilitating a patient in order to ensure patient success. While working with Dr. Franklin you will be treated solely by her for the duration of your treatment.  Developing a trusting relationship with your healthcare provider ensures positive outcomes.  When a patient feels they are treated as an individual rather than a number they are most satisfied. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to Dr. Franklin that all of her patients receive quality personalized, one on one care.

You do not need a prescription to be treated.  Dr. Franklin holds a Direct Access License which allows for patients to be seen for up to 30 days without a prescription or referral.
